Last week, Kyiv-Mohyla Business School held one of the sessions for trainers of the updated course “Defending Ukraine”. The program participants will then deliver the course to teachers in their regions and communities, and since September 1, according to the Ministry of Education and Science, students in the 10-11th grades will be able to take the updated course in schools.
The training of trainers program was developed by the Democratic School “Maibutni” in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, with the involvement of kmbs lecturers, representatives of the Azov Special Forces Brigade and the OSINT agency Molfar, and others.
This is the second launch of the program for trainers, including teachers of the subject “Defense of Ukraine” or related subjects; instructors of civil defense centers; demobilized defenders of Ukraine.
The training covers the following topics: interactive teaching methods, basics of national security, military management, and countering information threats.
“We believe that the ‘Defense of Ukraine’ program should primarily work on motivating high school students: creating conditions for the formation of conscious citizens who do not complain, do not shift all responsibility to the government, do not spread betrayal, but work to strengthen Ukraine with the question: “What can I do for Ukraine's defense capability?” And the practical classes on drones, shooting training, tactical training, and OSINT included in the program should help high school students find their role, according to their talents, interests, and abilities,” the “Maibutni” Democratic School notes.
