We discussed how the concept of human rights was formed and changed: from the ideas behind its emergence to its key elements and institutional architecture.

Practical work was an important part of the session. In small groups, participants worked with real examples of current international challenges that highlight points of tension at the intersection of ideologies, human rights, and political decisions.
