During the latest module of the corporate MBA program, participants from TAS Group visited the "Sunrise" (Sontseskhid) exhibition at the National Art Museum of Ukraine, dedicated to the work of Anatoliy Lymarev.
Together with the group, they reflected on how fine art preserves time and memory of a region. The exhibition features around 100 works of painting, graphics, and photography, presenting Donetsk region — an area currently suffering destruction as a result of russian bombings.
During his lifetime, Anatoliy Lymarev was unable to gain proper recognition, as he depicted his native Amvrosiivka in Donetsk region outside the conventional Soviet perspective — not as an industrial region, but through great love for his homeland and its people. His works did not fit within ideological frameworks, even though they contained no direct political context.
His works reveal a vivid experiment, "jazz in colors," avant-garde and expressionism, bright colors, and a unique play with light. This is why he can be considered one of the most powerful colorists in Ukrainian art of the 20th century.
