kmbs continues to strengthen its international partnership with leading international educational institutions. Thus, for the sixth time, adjunct professor of the business school, Maryna Starodubska, an expert in cross-cultural management and author of the book “How to Understand Ukrainians: A Cross-Cultural View”, represented kmbs as part of a joint course of the MBA International program in human resources management at L'Institut Magellan (France).
The course, dedicated to the impact of national and corporate cultures on the success of mergers and acquisitions, became part of a long-term partnership between Kyiv-Mohyla Business School [kmbs] and L'Institut Magellan.
This year, 27 participants worked on a case study of a Ukrainian company developed by Maryna Starodubska for the program. It illustrated typical HRM dilemmas related to managing multicultural teams and building global talent ecosystems.
During the training, the participants also discussed the following issues:
the interconnection of national and organizational culture in the M&A process - focus on people, communication and reducing “transaction costs”
advantages and risks of four integration formats: assimilation, partnership, coexistence and mixing;
the use of international culture classification systems (Hofstede, GLOBE, Lewis, Trompenaars, Inglehart, etc.) for effective management of a multicultural team;
a template for assessing the readiness of companies for M&A, taking into account cultural dynamics, leadership and team interaction;
team development of strategic decisions in a complex intercultural context.
The program was attended by representatives of global companies, including: Crédit Agricole, AXA, Sanofi, L'Oréal, BNP Paribas, AON, IPSEN, Total Energies, Vallourec Group, Technip Energies, CELINE, Ogury and others.
