At the beginning of October, the annual conference of the Executive MBA Council (EMBAC) was held in Scottsdale, Arizona (USA). EMBAC unites almost 200 of the best business schools in the world and shapes global trends in management education. Kyiv-Mohyla Business School is the only representative of Ukraine in this organization. kmbs participates in key community events despite full-scale invasion, and the annual conference was no exception.
This year, Marta Farion, the lawyer and the president of the Kyiv-Mohyla Foundation of America, represented our business school. She held a presentation together with Anders Paalzov, the head of the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, on the reconstruction of Ukraine and the role of EMBA programs in this process.
Colleagues from other key business schools learned about the current situation in Ukraine, how the role of kmbs has been transformed in recent years, and how its cooperation with governmental institutions and the public sector has been formed.
The presentation also covered the differences between American executive programs and similar programs in Ukraine and the Baltic countries. In the US, they mainly focus is on businesses and corporations to satisfy the business community's interests. In Ukraine and the Baltic countries, MBA programs focus more on strategic planning, management, and executive skills of government, civil society, business, and the academic community. As a result, such programs are relevant and meet national needs. Therefore, EMBA programs in Ukraine are a powerful platform for transforming national security, the economy, and society in general.
We are very grateful to Marta Farion and Anders Paalzov for their presentation and fostering of kmbs partnership with the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. We are planning to deepen our cooperation, share experiences, and conduct joint educational activities.
