Open kmbs liveThinking systemically is the art of "seeing" systems — understanding how they function, predicting their behavior, influencing them, and creating new systems.
Systems thinking helps one understand both the whole and its parts, as well as the relationships between them. This enables us to see the properties of the entire system that are different from the properties of its individual components.
One of the key values of systems thinking lies in this: even without having detailed knowledge of every element of the system, by understanding the principles by which systems operate, one can anticipate both the short- and long-term consequences of decisions, predict system behavior, and see several steps ahead.
