In a world of quick decisions and instant reactions, we feel the need to reflect not only on events but also on our own choices, thinking, and inner meanings.

On June 17 at kmbs, a presentation will take place for the new novel “Perpignan Station”, a philosophical and dramatic story with a detective plotline, written by Oleksiy Herashchenko — a writer, adjunct professor at kmbs, top-level financial manager, and a promoter of economic literacy. Among his previous literary works are: the novella “Just One Second”, the bestselling non-fiction books “Economics of the 21st Century”, “Economics. Your Own Business. First Step”, and the children's educational fairy tale “Catanomics, or How Cats Built an Economy”. Over 150,000 people have joined Oleksiy’s open-access financial courses.

This novel combines a detective storyline with philosophical contemplation, personal challenges, and the internal transformation of its characters. It explores topics such as free will, deceptive memory, coming to terms with the past, and the search for meaning. The title refers to Salvador Dalí’s painting “La Gare de Perpignan”, in which the artist represents what he once called “the center of the world.”

At the presentation, Oleksiy Herashchenko will be joined by Ilona Zamotsna, director and co-founder of Vikhola Publishing. Together, they will talk about:

the current state of the book market and how Vikhola Publishing helps discover new voices;
writing a book as a creative process;
the issues of free will, choice, memory, acceptance of the past, and strong decisions;
the risks to deep thinking in an era of artificial intelligence and snap judgments;
the author’s personal journey — how a book is born; mysterious stories connected to the text.

After the event, attendees will have the opportunity to speak with the author and get a signed copy of the book.
